Spike architecture traits associated with type II resistance to fusarium head blight in bread wheat

چکیده
Fusarium head blight (FHB) remains a devastating disease in bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Genetic resistance to FHB is complex; aside from active physiological resistance, plant developmental and morphological traits indirectly affect progression provide passive mechanism. Here, the relationship between Type II spike architecture was evaluated recombinant inbred line (RIL) population of field experiments during two crop seasons under completely randomized block design with replications. Point inoculation carried out at anthesis each RIL. Disease severity 21 days post (dpi), area progress curve (AUDPC) comprising measurements 12, 17 dpi, rachis length, density, number spikelets per spike, florets spikelet were determined. The showed significant variation for all traits. Heritability moderate-high (0.69) AUDPC (0.63) high (0.74–0.92). dpi significantly associated [r = 0.38 (P < 0.001) r 0.31 0.01) respectively] 0.28 0.27 0.05) respectively], reflecting greater spread fungus spikes higher floret number. These results suggest that should be considered breeding efforts, because selection lines could lead correlated response towards increased levels conditions.

متن کاملResistance to Fusarium head blight and seedling blight in wheat is associated with activation of a cytochrome p450 gene.
ABSTRACT One plant genotype displays a resistance phenotype at one development stage but a susceptible reaction to the same pathogen at another stage, which is referred to here as resistance inversion. In wheat, Fusarium head blight (FHB)-resistant cv. Sumai3 showed a Fusarium seedling blight (FSB)-susceptible reaction whereas FHB-susceptible cv. Annong8455 exhibited FSB resistance when challen...

Thirty-seven isolates of Fusarium graminearum species complexobtained from wheat heads with Fusarium head blight symptoms were selected and used for phylogenetic studies. They were collected from different localities of Moghan plain (Ardebil province, Iran). Partial sequences of translation elongation factor 1-alpha (TEF), putative reductase (RED) and UTP-ammonia ligase (URA) genes were amplifi...
